To create a new COBie project
- Start OpenBuildings Station Designer. The Work page interface opens, where you can manage Workspaces, Worksets, and assign project to a workset.
- In the Work page for your current WorkSpace (e.g. BuildingSample_US), select COBieTemplate_US, from the current WorkSet drop down menu. The Properties in the right pane display the workspace and workset properties for Connected project.
- Select The Edit WorkSet Dialog opens where you can view and edit WorkSet properties.
- To Assign Connected project to WorkSet: click Browse button next to CONNECTED Project field. The Assign Project to WorkSet dialog opens.
- (Optional) To create a new project to assign to WorkSet: In the Assign Project to WorkSet dialog click Register, and register your project on the Register a Project page opened in your default browse.

Select desired project from the list of available projects and click Assign.
The assigned project name will appear in CONNECTED Project Properties on Work Page.
The project description is inserted into the newly created (.CFG) and the project becomes the active project.
Note: The WorkSet CFG includes the configuration variable IFC_WORKSET (set to 2). This extends the workspace with the IFC2x3_psets and FM_Handover_Ext (COBie) dataset extensions. This is because you used the COBieTemplate_US seed project. If another project’s workspace does not include the IFC2x3_psets and FM_Handover_Ext (COBie) dataset extensions, they can be added by changing the value of the configuration variable IFC_WORKSET (from 0 to 1 or 2).
